CENTENNIAL, Colo. –
Colorado Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcons will honor our veterans with flyovers over Colorado communities in celebration of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2024.
Flyovers are a tradition during patriotic holiday observances that show dedication and support to community, state and nation as well as showcase the air power of the U.S. Air Force.
"Veterans Day is a time to honor the bravery, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of those who have served our country," said U.S. Air Force Col. Benjamin Couchman, commander, 140th Wing. "We are honored to conduct these flyovers as they serve as a symbol of gratitude and respect for the veterans in our community, offering a moment of reflection for their selfless service."
Locations approved by the U.S. Air Force to receive a flyover are:
Scottsbluff, Nebraska: 11:30 a.m.
Loveland, Longmont, Westminster, Lakewood: 11:50 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Flyovers may be cancelled due to weather. Coordinators from the events receiving flyovers requested support from the USAF Aerial Events Office in Washington, D.C.
Flyovers are conducted at no additional cost to the taxpayer and serve as training for our pilots.
The 140th Wing flies and maintains F-16C+ Fighting Falcon aircraft under Air Combat Command and stands alert 24/7 to protect the U.S. from airborne threats.
