147th Brigade Support Battalion

The 147th Brigade Support Battalion provides direct-support level logistics to the 169th Field Artillery Brigade by planning, coordinating, and synchronizing the flow of throughput into the Brigade’s operational area. On order, the 147th BSB will mobilize and deploy in order to plan and supervise logistics and combat health service support operations for the 169th FA Brigade.

The 147th Brigade Support Battalion also responds to chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRNE) incidents and assists local, state, and federal agencies in conducting consequence management by providing capabilities to conduct patient decontamination, emergency medical services, and casualty search and extraction. 

This battalion has oversight of HSC and the 3650th Maintenance Company.

Building greatness: Colorado Army National Guard marksmanship program among best in world

In less than five years, the Colorado Army National Guard’s marksmanship program has gone from practically non-existent to one of the best in the world.

U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers with Attack Company, 1st Battalion, 157th Infantry Regiment, Colorado Army National Guard, spend more than a week in Gurnsey, Wyoming, in preparation for a deployment, Oct. 15-25. Throughout the week the Soldiers ran lanes multiple times, qualified on individual weapon systems and completed Situational Training Exercise lanes that consisted of ambushes. Fort Carson’s 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade provided assistance and helped the National Guard improve their tactics. The SFAB is a specialized unit with the core mission to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying operations with allied and partner nations. Howitzers are not new to Fort Carson, Colorado, however a retired French-designed pre-World War II howitzer is. The 168th Regional Training Institute of Excellence, Colorado Army National Guard, at Fort Carson, is set to receive an M1917 155mm Howitzer in August.
