CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Force Protection element will conduct an active threat response exercise for full-time staff at the Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs campus, 6848 S. Revere Parkway, Centennial, Colorado, in September.
This training, with an unannounced date in the month of September, will evaluate response procedures by simulating an active threat environment and provide hands-on education and preparedness for DMVA employees in dealing with threat situations and evacuation.
This year’s event will not incorporate partner law enforcement or emergency medical response; however, evacuating of staff is expected. Sounds simulating gunfire and yelling may be heard in the immediate area.
This annual training increases preparedness and is not in response to any heightened threat level or direct threat to any person or property.
To simulate a realistic training environment, this event is not open to the public.
