BUCKLEY SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — The 140th Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard will perform Memorial Day flyovers of Colorado communities to honor fallen servicemembers May 24 and 26, 2025.

The flyovers, featuring four F-16 Vipers, are scheduled to begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. and will cover multiple locations across Colorado. The flight path includes:

“A Memorial Day flyover is more than a display of airpower,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Christopher “KojaCk” Melka, acting deputy commander, 140th Wing. “It is a solemn tribute to our fallen heroes, a reminder to our community of the sacrifices made for freedom, and a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to honor those who gave all.”

Flyover times are estimates and could be cancelled due to weather. The aircraft may also be seen between these locations as they transition between Memorial Day celebrations.

Event coordinators from these locations requested support from the USAF Aerial Events Office in Washington, D.C.

Flyover times are coordinated with event staff and are conducted at no additional cost to the taxpayer, serving as training for our pilots.

The 140th Wing flies and maintains F-16C Viper aircraft under Air Combat Command and stands alert 24/7 to protect the U.S. from airborne threats.

The COANG has been a pioneer in leveraging aviation for state emergencies and national defense for more than a century and has continually adapted and innovated this technology to remain Always Ready, Always There.
