CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Gold Star families and the families of deployed Colorado National Guard members will attend separate events hosted by Gov. Jared Polis and The Adjutant General of Colorado, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Laura Clellan, Dec. 14, 2024, at the Boettcher Mansion in Denver.
These annual events give back to the families of servicemembers who are away for the holidays in defense of the nation and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“The families of our Colorado National Guard members sacrifice so much, especially during the holidays, while their loved ones are deployed in defense of our nation,” Clellan said. “They are the foundation of our force and ensuring they have the best care and resources strengthens our organization.”
More than 200 CONG members will spend the holidays away from their families while supporting operations overseas.
Colorado Air National Guard and Colorado Army National Guard senior leaders will attend and visit with the families while the children enjoy crafts and treats provided by the CONG Family Programs staff.
The arrival of Santa Claus in a military vehicle and a storybook reading will be highlights at the events.
These events are not open to the public.
