CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado Army National Guard hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a $6.6 million construction project at Buckley Space Force, Aurora, Colorado, Oct. 4, 2024.
A 21,600 square foot unheated aircraft storage hangar was constructed next to the Chief Warrant Officer 5 David R. Carter Army Aviation Support Facility located at 19310 Camp Hale Way at Buckley SFB. The expansion will allow for storage, inspection and sustainment of mission critical equipment that require protection from the harsh Colorado weather.
“This hangar is a great benefit to the Soldiers of the AASF who will utilize it daily across various training activities and missions,” U.S. Army Lt. Col. Chris Moskoff, AASF commander, said. “Additionally, this facility is a great benefit to our taxpayers as it provides much needed protection against extreme weather conditions to valuable equipment that serves both the state and nation.”
The construction contract was awarded to Iron Mike Construction. The architect and engineering design firm was Coover-Clark.
