CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Gifts donated by local businesses and members of the Colorado community will help the Colorado National Guard Family Programs Office provide holiday presents to CONG families in need Dec. 11, 2021, in both Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Due to Department of Defense COVID-19 restrictions, shopping is by appointment only for service members previously registered for the event.
“We cannot defend our nation without our people, our families, and support from our communities,” The Adjutant General of Colorado U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Laura Clellan said. “With more than 400 of our Colorado National Guard members deployed during this holiday season, events like Santa Shops help us to take care of their families.”
The annual Santa Shops provide CONG parents the opportunity to “shop” for their children and CONG children to “shop” for their parents – all at no cost. CONG FP volunteers assist the children with gift selection and wrapping while the parents are in a separate room. This allows the children to experience the rewards of gift-giving.
Help is still available for CONG families by contacting Suzanne Buemi with the FPO at 303-921-6099.
