AURORA, Colo. – U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Bren Dee Rogers, commanding general, Colorado Army National Guard will be honored during a "High Ground Honors" military review and retirement ceremony at the Chief Warrant Officer 5 David R. Carter Army Aviation Support Facility, Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado, at 2:00 p.m., Feb. 21, 2026.
The ceremony will commemorate her 39 years of dedicated military service to our community, state and nation.
“I am proud of General Rogers for her exemplary leadership. Her service extends to her community where she was a first responder for nearly three decades,” said The Adjutant General of Colorado U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Robert B. Davis. “A true Citizen-Soldier, General Rogers has, with great success, balanced civilian career and family life with the responsibilities of military command, leaving a legacy in the Colorado National Guard among those she led, mentored and taught.”
The High Ground Honors ceremony will review COARNG achievements under Rogers’ command. Following the review, the retirement ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m.
Rogers has been responsible for the readiness, training and welfare of more than 3,600 Soldiers within the COARNG. Throughout her tenure, Rogers provided strategic leadership during critical state responses and ensured the deployment readiness of units supporting federal missions worldwide.
Rogers entered the COARNG in February 1987 as an enlisted Soldier assigned to Company B, 140th Signal Battalion, serving as a tactical teletype operator. Rogers later earned her commission through the Colorado Military Academy in 1992 as a second lieutenant in the Military Police Corps.
Prior to her appointment as Assistant Adjutant General, Army, Rogers served in numerous leadership and staff roles throughout her military career including assignments from platoon leader with the 220th Military Police Company to deputy commander of the COARNG.
Rogers deployed with the 220th in support of Operation Joint Forge in 2000 and was mobilized in support of the airport security mission after the 9/11 attacks and for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rogers supported numerous domestic operations missions including the Coal Seam and Hayman wildland fires. She was also Task Force-Security commander for the destructive High Park, Waldo Canyon, and Black Forest wildfires.
Her numerous awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
Rogers served concurrently as a professional firefighter, captain, and emergency medical technician during a 28 year-career with the Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins, Colorado.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University in May 1990.
