CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado National Guard Family Program Office and community partners will host the 2nd annual Salute to the Brave Resource Expo May 4, 2019, from 3-6 p.m. in Denver and Colorado Springs.
The event locations are Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City, CO 80022, and the North Colorado Springs Readiness Center, 9510 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
The expo welcomes service members from all military branches and components and as well as veterans, retirees, Wounded Warriors, and their families.
“The purpose of this event is to educate service members and their families about local free to low-cost community resources,” Suzanne Buemi, Family Assistance Center coordinator (team lead), said. “The local resources will be based around legal, financial, education, employment, mental health counseling, youth, and military benefits.”
The mission of the Joining Community Forces partnership, a National Guard Bureau initiative, builds resilience and foster a support network that is sustainable and relevant for military members, veterans, and their families in the 54 states and territories by maximizing the national- to community-level resources and partnerships, both civilian and military.
Joining Community Forces expands on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s and Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden's "Joining Forces" campaign.
