The Colorado National Guard Memorial is a moving tribute to those CONG members who have passed. Located at Joint Force Headquarters in Centennial, the memorial is a 4' x 5' heavy brass plaque depicting a funeral caisson carrying a casket draped with the US flag to its final resting place. The horses are headed west as if into the sunset while the US and Colorado flags, conjoined by a dove representing peace, flies in the skies above.

The plaque reads "Honoring Our Colorado National Guard Fallen..." across the top with a bible verse on the bottom that states "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

The plaque was designed by MSG David Schmidt (Ret) and paid for by donations from several veterans and the National Guard Association of Colorado (NGACO).
