Colorado National Guard member is first Army National Guard nurse consultant to surgeon general

U.S. Army Col. Laura Thomas, Colorado Army National Guard deployed with the 455th Expeditionary Medical Group at Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Airfield, 2010. Thomas served as the Flight Commander for the busiest outpatient clinic in the theater as well as being the sole OB-GYN provider and serving with the 101st Airborne Division on the Combined Joint Task Force Sexual Assault Review Board as the Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Examiner subject matter expert.
