CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado National Guard will host a departure ceremony for 33 Soldiers of the Colorado National Guard’s 1st Infantry Division Main Command Post - Operational Detachment at 11:00 a.m. at the Regional Training Institute auditorium, Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, June 7, 2026.
MCP-OD is scheduled to deploy to Poland in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The unit will provide increased capacity for the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division Main Command Post, augmenting personnel, operations, logistics, information management and maintenance, with a heavy emphasis on intelligence. This augmentation by the MCP-OD will increase capacity and capability for simultaneous execution of missions, extended operations, and support for forward deployment of the MCP.
“This is the third mobilization of MCP-OD Soldiers since its formation,” said MCP-OD Commander U.S. Army Lt. Col. David J. Cutler. “COARNG Soldiers will augment 1ID to enable 24/7 operations and bring valuable continuity to the division MCP. Active Duty 1ID Soldiers move on every couple of years, but a COARNG Soldier can serve in the MCP-OD for a much longer duration which brings stability to MCP operations. 1ID can’t fully execute their mission without us and we are proud to be a part of the oldest continually serving division in the Army.”
The unit previously conducted partial unit deployments to Europe to augment division staff, bolster NATO partnerships, deter regional aggression and lay the groundwork so that larger military forces could arrive, survive and fight effectively in the event a conflict were to break out.
The unit is headquartered at Fort Carson.
