Florence, Arizona - U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Adam Welch, 1st Infantry Division Main Command Post Operational Detachment, Colorado Army National Guard engages targets with his M17 pistol during the anti-body armor pistol table event of the Marksmanship Advisory Council Region VII Match (MAC VII) at Florence Military Reservation, Arizona, May 20, 2025. The course of fire required Soldiers to engage multiple targets at 15 yards, aiming for the head and lower torso to simulate an enemy wearing body armor. Participants moved between targets to demonstrate proficiency in transitioning between designated target zones. The MAC VII enhances the lethality and readiness of Soldiers through a high-stakes, dynamic environment where Soldiers push themselves to their limits, testing both physical endurance and mental resilience.
