CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado National Guard Family Programs Office will provide holiday gifts donated by local businesses and members of the Colorado community to CONG families in need Dec. 10, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
This year’s Santa Shop returns to the North Colorado Springs Readiness Center to support CONG families from across the state who have requested a little extra help during this holiday season. The program began in 2009.
“We cannot safeguard our freedom and security without the support of our National Guard families,” The Adjutant General of Colorado U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Laura Clellan said. “Our Colorado communities recognize this, and I am so thankful for the tremendous outpouring of support for our families during this holiday season.”
The annual Santa Shop provides CONG parents the opportunity to “shop” for their children and CONG children to “shop” for their parents – all at no cost. CONG FP volunteers assist children with gift selection and wrapping while parents are in a separate room. This allows the children to experience the rewards of gift-giving.
Help is always available for CONG families by contacting Family Programs Director Suzanne Buemi with the FPO at 303-921-6099.
