CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Colorado National Guard’s top Non-commissioned Officer-in-Charge will change responsibility in a ceremony June 18, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Joint Force Headquarters-Colorado, 6848 South Revere Parkway, Centennial CO 80112.

Current Command Senior Enlisted Leader U.S. Army Command Sgt. Bill Woods will pass responsibility to U.S. Air Force Command Chief Master Sgt. Lisa Perry.

“Over the last six years, it has been an honor to represent the enlisted members of the Colorado National Guard,” Woods said. “I am excited to have Chief Perry assume responsibilities from me as I move on to my next assignment.”

Woods began his military career in October 1986. He attended basic training and advanced Individual training at Fort McClellan, Alabama, where he graduated from Military Police school.  He has served as the CSEL since June 2015.

Woods has also been a civilian police officer since 1990, employed by the police departments of: Fayetteville, North Carolina; Breckenridge, Colorado; and, currently Aurora, Colorado Police Department, where his assignments included Patrol, Field Training Officer, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Background Investigations, Firearms Training Unit, and, currently, the Police Training Academy.

“I know I speak for all in thanking CSM Woods for his leadership and mentorship and wish him and his family well on his adventure,” Perry said.  “I'm excited and I'm humbled, to be given the opportunity to represent the enlisted members of the Colorado National Guard. I will work tirelessly to support the professionals who not only care for our community but also compete and win in any operational domain in the defense of our Nation.”

Perry began her military career by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in July 1991 as an Information Management Specialist. While on Active Duty, she was stationed at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, and Shriever Space Force Base, Colorado.

She joined the Colorado Air National Guard in January 1996 and most recently served as the Colorado Air National Guard 140th Wing command chief, Buckley SFB, Aurora, Colorado, where she advised the wing commander on matters impacting the enlisted force.

Change of Responsibility ceremonies render honors, preserve tradition, inspire esprit de corps, and maintain the continuity of the NCO support channel and the chain of command.

The CSEL serves as an advisor to The Adjutant General of Colorado, collaborates on all enlisted matters pertaining to readiness, leader development, force structure and growth, and promotes command policy throughout the workforce while upholding and enforcing the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

The ceremony is by invitation only but will be broadcast live at: https://www.facebook.com/CONG1860/
