The Family Readiness Program supports families and units before, during and after a deployment. It is critical that EVERY unit has an active Family Readiness Program established BEFORE deployment.

Our mission statement: "To establish and facilitate ongoing communication, involvement, support, and recognition between National Guard Families and the National Guard, in a partnership that promotes the best in both."

Charlene Shields is the State Family Program Director. She oversees the program as a whole and can facilitate or direct any concerns to the appropriate staff member. She has extensive military experience and retired as a Sgt. 1st Class. Her office number is 720-250-1190.

The Airman & Family Readiness Program (A&FRP), Grace Finley, and her team collaborate with the State Family Program to implement higher HQ operational plans and assists Air Guard members plus their families with information/referrals, deployment cycle support, personal/family readiness, life skills education, and community outreach. The Senior Family Readiness Assistant, Lisa Cooley, and her team are responsible for helping the Commander fulfill their vision for Family Readiness. Please feel free to contact her by calling 720-250-1192.

The Family Assistance Coordinator, Suzanne Buemi, and her team are here to provide information, assistance, referral, and follow-up services to service members and families from all branches of service and components. Feel free to contact her at 720-250-1186 with issues regarding financial needs, legal, ID/DEERS, resource referral and many more.

The Child & Youth Program Coordinators are Alice Nofziger and Laurie Burke. They plan events for Guard Youth across the state to promote team building, leadership skills and help build friendships with other youth of Guard members. Call 720-250-1412 or 1193 to contact them.

The Yellow Ribbon Program NCOIC, SFC Mary Thompson, along with her team are there to provide informational events and activities for the Colorado Army and Air National Guard team and their families that have deployed 90 days cumulative in a fiscal year. Please free to contact her at 720-250-1185.

The Survivor Outreach Services program managers, Amy Pike and Maegan Ricks, are there to deliver services to survivors in their local communities. The SOS program identifies needs of those touched by the loss of a lvoed one and will uspport the family for as long as they desire. Joint Force Support Assistance Program (JFSAP) team. The JFSAP team consists of: a Military Family Life Consultant (adult); a Military Family Life Consultant (youth-parenting); a JFSAP Military OneSource consultant; a Red Cross representative; and an Operation: Military Kids Youth Program Specialist.
