Members of the 193rd Military Police Battalion receive a farewell from their family and firends at the Douglas County Events Center Oct. 21, 2014, as they depart for their year-long detainee operations mission in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The members will spend a year away from their families and civilian employers. Many of the unit members work as civilian law enforcement officers and corrections officers in their fulltime jobs, which contributes to their readiness and experience.
