Biathlon team finishes season at 2023 National Guard Championships

The Colorado National Guard Biathlon Team placed sixth in the men’s and women’s team competitions and brought home two sets of individual bronze medals at the 2023 Chief, National Guard Bureau Biathlon Championships, Feb. 17-22, 2023, at Camp Ripley, Minnesota.

Colorado Air National Guard members save lives during arctic blast

In late December 2022, an extreme cold weather system threatened the lives of the unhoused population in Denver, Colorado, and surrounding communities. This prompted Gov. Jared Polis to activate the Colorado National Guard to assist local authorities with staffing warming shelters as ambient temperatures were expected to hover around -10 degrees Fahrenheit for several nights, just before the Christmas holiday.

Colorado National Guard Biathlon Team competes in National Guard race

The Colorado National Guard Biathlon Team competed at the National Guard Western Region races held Jan. 13-15, 2023, in Casper, Wyoming. The three-day competition consisted of one training day and two individual races: a sprint race and a pursuit race. The event included 34 Guard members from six states, including Colorado, California, Montana, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming.
