Following a winter marked by record-low snowpack and persistent drought, the Colorado Army National Guard is shifting its focus from a seasonal schedule to a year-round mission to fight the state’s growing wildfire threat.

140th Wing strengthens deterrence and integration at Kadena Air Base

Deployed members of the Colorado Air National Guard conducted joint-force operations alongside sister branches of the U.S. military and allied forces in the Indo-Pacific region in February 2026.

From the historic runways of a World War II island to the austere outback of Australia, a specialized unit of the Colorado Air National Guard has been quietly setting the stage for U.S. defensive posture in the Indo-Pacific region.

Members of the Colorado Army National Guard bid farewell to their Commanding General U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Bren Dee Rogers, after 39 years of service at a retirement ceremony at Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado, Feb. 21, 2026. Rogers enlisted in 1987 as a teletype operator and concurrently served as a captain with the Poudre Fire Authority.
