Colorado-Jordan future leaders focus on human capital development

In an effort to understand these practical differences and grow as partners, company-grade officers from the Colorado National Guard and JAF partnered for the first time in January 2018, in Colorado, and in August 2018, in Jordan. Together, they discussed the similarities and differences in leadership style, and learned practices and strategies from each other, to improve as leaders.

Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado hosts Veterans Day 2018 Ceremony

The Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado and the Western Slope Vietnam War Memorial Park will present the annual Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 11:11 a.m.

U.S. Army Maj. Benjamin Eastep, team leader of Army Space Support Team 21, 117th Space Battalion, Colorado Army National Guard, directs team level training with U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Alexis Madrigal and U.S. Army Sgt. Bruce Conrad in preparation for their upcoming deployment to the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. Army Space Support Teams provide essential space imagery and intelligence products, analysis, and advice to division operations domestically and in support of contingency operations worldwide.

Colorado Army National Guard space team deploys to support warfighters in the Middle East

Nation’s only missile defense brigade celebrates 15 years of dedicated service to homeland defense

The Soldiers of the Colorado Army National Guard’s 100th Missile Defense Brigade (Ground-Based Midcourse Defense), will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the brigade’s activation with alumni, mission partners, and their families, and other officials Oct. 26, 2018, at a ceremony in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Adjutant General of Colorado U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Mike Loh pins a medal on a 5th Battalion 19th Special Forces Group member at a Valor Ceremony, Feb. 10, 2018, following the units recent return.

Local and national leaders will honor Colorado Army National Guard Soldiers from Bravo Company, 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Feb. 10, with valor awards they earned while deployed last year in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

The unit returned from a six-month deployment to Afghanistan in October 2017.

The awards approved include seven Purple Heart Medals, 10 Bronze Star Medals with Valor, and eight Army Commendation Medals with Valor. One Silver Star Medal has also been approved, but the member is currently deployed in support of the warfight.

Many of the 59 valor awards submitted are still pending.
