CENTENNIAL, Colo. (6/30/13) – Colorado National Guard members are continuing support to civil authorities at the West Fork Complex fire in southwestern Colorado.
One UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, outfitted with a hoist, is on standby for medevac and search-and-rescue if needed by the incident commander.
National Guardsmen are manning multiple checkpoints around the fire area in support of local law enforcement.
Colorado Air National Guard Airmen who were providing a phone, internet and radio communications platform to facilitate communications between civil and military authorities completed their mission July 1.
The tents being used by non-governmental organizations to support relief and recovery efforts in following the Black Forest fire were recovered from authorities in El Paso County, Colo., July 1.
