Air National Guard Master Sgt. Cheresa Theiral
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (6/4/13) – The Colorado National Guard will host a pre-exercise media day Thursday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 at the organization’s headquarters in Centennial, Colo.
This media day is designed to be an orientation to the large-scale, multi-agency emergency response exercise scheduled to take place in various locations across the state in late July.
The exercise, dubbed Vigilant Guard, is a multi-state, multi-agency exercise focused on interagency coordination in preparation for domestic emergencies and catastrophic events.
Sponsored by U.S. Northern Command in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau, the exercise will provide the Colorado National Guard and supporting military units an opportunity to improve cooperation and operational relationships with their local, state, private sector, non-governmental organizations and federal partners.
The pre-Vigilant Guard media day will be an opportunity for the media to learn more about the exercise’s expected impact, exercise locations and media coverage opportunities, the Colorado National Guard, and ask general military questions.
