CENTENNIAL, Colo. (11/27/12) – Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will host a holiday reception for the family members of deployed Colorado National Guardsmen Nov. 28.

Festivities will begin at 2 p.m. at Boettcher Mansion, located at 400 E. 8th Ave., in Denver.

The Colorado National Guard has nearly 450 Soldiers and Airmen deployed and separated from their families during this holiday season.

Hickenlooper and Santa Claus are scheduled to arrive via a Humvee at 2:40 p.m.

The governor will then read “The Soldiers’ Night Before Christmas”  and will allow photo opportunities with Santa afterward.

Guard senior leaders will also attend to show their support for the children and their families.
