BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (10/11/11) – As the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, prepares for an Operational Readiness Inspection next spring, the local community can anticipate an increase in activity and noise level periodically over the next eight months.
“As a Wing, we have been preparing for this very important inspection over the past several months and plan to continue honing our skills in addition to identifying any shortfalls through scheduled Operation Readiness Exercises between now and May 2012 to ensure our readiness and ultimate success during the ORI,” said Brig. Gen. Trulan Eyre, commander, 140th Wing.
The next Operational Readiness Exercise is scheduled for Oct. 14-15, and will include frequent sounding of alarms and sirens and increased flying operations, including jets taking off and/or landing as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 1 a.m.
The community’s patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as the 140th Wing works hard to prepare for success on the ORI and perfects the mission-essential functions carried out every day in support of national security.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Capt. Kinder Blacke, 140th Wing Public Affairs at 720-847-6164, firstname.lastname@example.org.
