Hurricane Katrina aftermath 

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated U.S. cities along the Gulf of Mexico. During the week of Sept. 6, 2005, more than 600 Colorado Army and Air National Guardsmen convoyed or were airlifted to New Orleans, La., Gulfport, Miss., and other areas to support citizens in need, and assist with recovery and clean-up efforts.
