Colorado Soldiers return from Philippines

Return parade
On July 18, 1899, the First Colorado Volunteers sailed for home after serving for more than a year in the Spanish American War, which evolved into the Philippine Insurrection.

Upon returning to Colorado, these troops founded the organization that would become the Veterans of Foreign Wars, securing Post No. 1 in Denver.
