Maj. Wallace “Cole” Hogan, Jr., a member of Company B, 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (circa 1985-88), was working as an aide in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations on Sept. 11, 2001.

He was killed the when the hijacked American Airlines flight 77 hit the building.

“The only thing I regret not doing was tracking down his parents and telling them what a fine, upstanding man he was,” said retired Maj. Ron Burgy, Hogan’s former company commander.

CONG senior leaders paid their respects to Hogan, and to all who lost their lives that tragic day, at the Pentagon memorial in February 2011. Photos of that event are available on Flickr.
